Where, when and how do people determine their priorities? Up until recently, the short answer would have been from family, community, and education.
The concept of mass media was in its infancy in the early 1900’s. Back then people were concerned with national issues involving war, their welfare and the welfare of the immediate communities and family. The radio and newsprint was the only source of information beyond the neighborhood. News was news and entertainment was just that. The two were separate and neither dared cross the line.
Fast forward… How can we decipher what is real, from what is just nonsense, designed to rope in our attention?
