It just so happens that my initials are M.E. Therefore, it seems fit as a pen name for now.
I’ve always had a problem with politics in general. The idea of having to adhere to a specific limited viewpoint does not seem in line with finding the quality people we need in leadership positions. Leaders should be leaders, not followers.
Being a member of a family, community, country, and running business, I’ve always found it a great advantage to always keep an open mind. The quality of being objective in decision making has proven profitable. I enjoy being open to learning and growing, while being skeptical regarding the latest and greatest craze. The downside is that I question everything, and can be considered difficult especially as a student, client, patient, customer and even as a friend.
I believe the quality to be open to new information is a most commendable attribute.
Open-mindedness corresponds with the attribute of humility. The opposite, close-mindedness, is equivalent to arrogance and haughtiness. Can one really believe they have acquired all knowledge, no longer need to hear another point of view or to increase their wisdom, understanding and knowledge from outside sources?
A great sage of the 1500’s is quoted saying “When one stops growing he is equal to dead.”
I believe we all are here for a purpose and should be making a positive (forward) difference. M.E.
